WE ARE
Salem
Lutheran Church is a Christian congregation of 100 adult members that
has been working in south Scottsdale for over 35 years.
Salem began in the early 60s under the leadership of Pastor
John Gaertner. During his five year ministry, the congregation built
the present church building at 6701 E. Osborn in Scottsdale. In 1968,
Pastor Hugh Reaume began his 25 years of service to the people of
Salem congregation. This was a time of growth in the congregation.
The present pastor is Andrew Retberg who began his service in 2004.
Salem is a member of the Wisconsin Ev. Lutheran Synod (WELS), an international
church body with congregations in all 50 states, several provinces
of Canada and 20 nations overseas.
Salem offers a program of worship, education, service and fellowship.
Worship: We believe that faith in Jesus is nurtured through
regular worship.

Worship: 9:00 a.m.
Education:
We believe that growth in faith begins with the study of Gods
Word. We offer:
Sunday School (ages 3-14) 10:30 11:30 a.m.
Sunday Bible Study (ages 15-99) 10:30 11:30 a.m.
Thursday Bible Class 10:00 11:20 a.m.
Adult Information Class evenings, as requested
Service: We believe that growth in faith also happens as we
exercise our faith. We offer opportunities for people to serve, to
teach, to witness, and to lead.
Fellowship: We believe that sharing with one another fosters
closeness among Christians. We share through special events and occasional
dinners.
We also share with our community through an emergency food bank and
a yearly family adoption program through the city of Scottsdales
Vista del Camino.
